About Street Hibachi

Located in the newly renovated Waterways Shoppes in the heart of Aventura, Florida, Street Hibachi offers indoor and outdoor seating with scenic intercostal water views from virtually every table. Celebrating both southeast Asian cuisines and the artistry of Japanese sushi, Street Hibachi prides itself on “blending traditions and breaking culinary boundaries to create a dining experience that is truly unforgettable.”

Under the visionary leadership of renowned Chef Moshe Badishi, who has drawn inspiration from his extensive travels and studies abroad, Street Hibachi combines and synthesizes the diverse flavors of India, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, and Japan — often by sourcing from the Far East authentic kosher herbs and spices rarely seen in South Florida.

The Sushi Menu features a tantalizing array of maki rolls, nigiri, and sashimi — everything from salmon and spicy tuna to toro, caviar, and yellowtail — as well as two versions of chirashi don, the classic Japanese poke bowl. Meanwhile, the Main Menu is divided not into traditional sections of starters and mains, but rather into whimsical categories that are largely based on the preparation style or originating country of the dishes featured in each. Tempura tiger rolls and spicy tuna rice cakes appear in a “Chop Chop” section of Japanese-inspired delicacies; Thai incarnations of lemongrass fried fish (yam pla po mela) and a chicken or vegan tofu peanut sambal curry (gado gado) are under the “Pok Pok” heading; and a “Buns & Dumplings” list includes everything from Vietnamese crispy spring rolls or Korean beef buns to Thai-style gyoza dumplings.

But wait — there’s more! A “Japanese Josper” section features a veal chop with bok choi and oyster mushrooms, several succulent steaks, and a hoisin-and-mango chicken breast; the “Tandoor & Grill” section features both Thai and Indian dishes, including a decadently spiced (and naturally gluten-free) chicken tikka masala; and the “Street Wok” list traverses much of the Asian continent, with Japanese ramen (chicken or veal), Korean bibimbap (short rib or chicken), and Pad Thai (beef, chicken, or tofu) all making appearances. Conveniently, both the Sushi and Main Menus not only include, but also clearly identify, items that are vegan, spicy, and/or gluten-free, and there is even a short but sure-to-please Kids’ Menu section, so there is truly something for everyone within Street Hibachi’s remarkably diverse and authentically pan-Asian selection.

For a more eventful dining experience, and as would be expected from its name, Street Hibachi also offers a table-side hibachi experience. Diners select one of eight proteins — including chicken, beef, lamb, and even vegan tofu — and then enjoy not only the succulent flavors of the meal, but also the sizzling spectacle and irresistible aromas of its preparation. All hibachi meals include miso soup, house salad, fresh vegetables, and steamed rice; fried rice or yakisoba noodles may also be added for a small additional fee.

In addition to its remarkable cuisine, Street Hibachi features a full and creative bar, offering several wines by the bottle or glass, a well-curated selection of kosher spirits, and of course specialty cocktails which highlight exotic Asian flavors. Highlights include a gin, lychee water, and citrus cocktail called the Shanti Shanti, as well a classic tequila margarita that has been artfully infused with wildflower jus, palm sugar, yuzu, and tugarashi.

Street Hibachi advertises itself as offering a “true pan-Asian cuisine”, and, with its exotically sourced ingredients and impeccable attention to detail, flavor, and ambiance, the restaurant is indeed delightfully unique.
