About Sip and Sizzle
A Delicious Bukharian Addition to the Yorkville Neighborhood.
Sip & Sizzle is a trendy new Bukharian and Mediterranean steakhouse, located in the quiet Upper East Side neighborhood of Yorkville. Opened in December of 2023 in the former site of Nargila Grill, the space has been fully renovated and now features a fresh, modern look and a hip, local vibe. The menu focuses on classic Bukharian and Middle Eastern dishes and flavors, but with a broad selection of more American-style options available as well.
The starters list is impressive, and you’re going to want to try a little of everything. Thankfully, Sip & Sizzle offers two combination platters: the Sizzle Starter Deluxe Platter includes Vegetable, Potato and Beef Moroccan Cigars, Vegetable and Beef Kibbeh, and Falafel, while the Sizzle Salad Platter features Babganoush, Eggplant Salad, Tabbouleh, and Matbucha. There are five different presentations of Hummus and ten different classic mezzes to choose from, and other, non-Middle-Eastern starters, including Guacamole, Beef Sliders, an Avocado Salad with either crispy chicken or beef, and a Thai Salad, are available as well. Eight different soups, from Lentil to Chicken Noodle to Beef Yemenite, make a nice, warm addition to your meal.
For the main course, there are several pita sandwiches available, including Lamb Kebab, Schnitzel, Shawarma, and Baby Chicken, or you can choose between Yellow Moroccan or White Israeli Couscous, topped with vegetables, chicken or beef. The Sizzle Burger, served with perfectly golden Fries, features a unique combination of both crispy chicken and beef patties, topped with non-dairy cheese, pickles, tomatoes, onions, and house sauce.
For a true Bukharian experience, order from the House Specials section of the menu, where you’ll find all your favorites, including Plov, Bakhsh, Beef Samsa, Manti, and Beef or Potato Chebureki. For flavors that are closer to home, opt for the Short Ribs, Lamb Chops, or the tender boneless Ribeye Steak. Fish options also abound, including Red Snapper, Striped Bass, Dorado, and a 12oz Salmon Steak. Whatever you choose, don’t forget to save room for dessert: the perfectly authentic Baklava or the Chocolate Fondue with berries, pineapple, and marshmallows makes for a delightful end to your meal. The menu here definitely “sizzles”, and you can “sip” an authentic Turkish Coffee, Espresso, or pareve Cappuccino as well. Sip & Sizzle is a welcome addition to the kosher options on the Upper East Side.
