About Pizza Express
Pizza Express is Brooklyn’s Upper Crust A mainstay of the community under the current ownership since November of 2018, Pizza Express is one of Brooklyn’s most popular kosher pizzerias. Operating under the motto, “In Pizza We Crust,” this clean, modern restaurant is about so much more than just pizza. Still, the namesake pie—which they serve in both the classic thin-crust round and thick-cut square Sicilian styles—is consistently excellent. Toppings range from traditional mushrooms, tomatoes, and olives to more unusual options like eggplant, fried onions, broccoli, and baby spinach, and both the round and square varieties are conveniently served both by the pie or by the slice. Also available from the pizza oven are Calzones—including a delightfully unexpected one filled with Shakshuka & Cheese—and the ever-popular jumbo Cheese Pretzels—available with or without spicy jalapeño. Of course, it’s just not a kosher pizza shop without Fries, and Pizza Express offers the delicious deep-fried spuds in regular, Cajun, or mixed baskets, as well as the option to have them smothered in melty cheese. Crispy Onion Rings, classic Garlic Knots, and golden brown Pizza Rolls round out the list of sides, and Falafel is also available, either in a wrap or pita or as a plate with pickles, hummus, and tahini. The Soup of the Day and three pasta dishes—Baked Ziti, Penne Ala Vodka, and Penne Pesto—are all popular choices here as well. The delicious food, the bright, relaxed atmosphere, and the fast, friendly service are what keeps Brooklynites coming back to Pizza Express, but what makes their fans even more loyal is the restaurant’s commitment to creating value in the form of several “Family Special” meal deals, all of which deliver not only convenience, but also substantial savings over the a la carte menu pricing. Why choose between pizza, pasta, fries, and garlic knots, when you can choose “all of the above” and still save money by doing so? Pizza Express is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Motzei Shabbat from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
