The Original Brooklyn Bagel: Breakfast Bounty and So Much More in Marine Park.
Under new ownership since 2017, The Original Brooklyn Bagel is the traditional bagel shop of your dreams. Located just off Kings Highway in the Marine Park/Midwood area, right across the street from Derech Hatorah school, this full-scale bakery and cafe is not only equipped to handle your biggest event or simcha order, but also a great spot to grab breakfast or lunch.
As you would expect, the focus at The Original Brooklyn Bagel is on the bagels, and theirs are truly exceptional — perfectly plump and chewy. Here you’ll find all the traditional favorites (plain, sesame, everything, poppy seed, salt, etc.), as well as a rotation of specialty bagels (egg, flat, bialy, twists, etc.), baked fresh every day. And keep an eye out for new flavors; authentic sourdough bagels were added to the rotation in February of 2024. Other fresh-baked breads include fabulously flaky croissants, authentic baguettes, and traditional rye bread.
Top a bagel with butter, cream cheese, jelly, or lox for a satisfying breakfast, or make a more filling sandwich on your choice of bread by piling on any of the various fresh-made options, including spicy tuna salad, baked salmon, sable, egg salad or omelette, eggs and cheese, or even avocado. There are even grilled cheese and tuna melt options. To accompany your bagel or baguette sandwich, or just as a nice warm-up, there is also a rotation of soups, from split pea to minestrone.
For less bagel-y breakfast, there are other choices like omelettes, hash browns, and the crowd-pleasing chocolate chip pancakes. Fresh-baked muffins, Danishes, and knishes are available as well. For a lighter lunch, grab a Caesar, Greek, or house salad, with or without a hot soup selection. And of course, The Original Brooklyn Bagel has a great selection of hot and cold coffee and espresso drinks to perk you up any time of day. With many items available in larger bulk sizes, customized platters, and even boxed coffee, they are a great option to cater your bris, board meeting, or lunch and learn.
The Original Brooklyn Bagel makes it simple and affordable to feed yourself, or even your whole family, with a regular roster of specials. For a quick and easy lunch, grab the All Day Special, your choice of fresh-baked bagel generously stuffed with tuna, egg salad, white fish salad, baked salmon, or chopped herring, served with your choice of soup and a bottle of water. Or feed your entire family (or chavrusa) with the Family Special: a dozen bagels plus a pound each of tuna and egg salad, a half-pound each of white fish salad and scallion cream cheese, and a pound of your choice of macaroni or potato salad or coleslaw.
