About Mocha Bleu

At Teaneck’s Mocha Bleu, guests choosing their dishes are assured that one chef is responsible, and therefore is an expert in the cuisine that comes from his kitchen. Specialties at this Patisserie, Bistro and Café, which opened in November 2009, range from breads, pasta, sushi, fish, and pizza from a cherry-wood burning oven.  Owner Naftali Abenaim, an award-winning fashion designer, was inspired by the glossy, spare style of French Architect Philippe Starck, outfitting the eatery with Starck’s Louis Ghost chairs – transparent and comfortable armchairs. While the colors in the restaurant’s name was inspired the brown-bronze chrome tables adorned with cerulean-blue drinking-glasses.

You may come here to enjoy a light breakfast of baked goods and bread confections from the French Chef, who heads the in-house bakery.  Or move to the lounge, set with sofas and a large-screen television, to enjoy your treats. A full breakfast is served in the main dining room.  The lounge is also the waiting area for guests with reservations at the bistro.  Mr. Abenaim is particularly proud that all pasta dishes are available in whole-wheat and gluten-free variations.  The house specialty includes the Pan Seared Chilean Bass with wild rice and basmati, grilled pineapple in a white peach reduction.

Customers may complement dinner with BYOB (no corking fees) or order a virgin cocktail, a smoothie or milk shakes, which come in 20 flavors, from the house bar.  The take-out counter has fun offerings like half-baked pizzas to go, and an assortment of delectable and colorful French pastries.  For your most special events, Mocha Bleu turns into a spacious hall for 150, with separate reception and party rooms, a private bar area, a choice of buffet or sit-down dining, a business meeting setup and many other amenities. From a child’s pizza-making party, cocktail receptions or corporate events, Mocha Bleu’s staff is most gracious in service, and individual accommodations.  For outside catering, Mocha Bleu will craft a tantalizing display of dishes for a gamut of occasions, including weddings, Brit Milahs, concerts, galas, fundraisers, fashion shows, engagement parties, and Sweet Sixteen’s.
