About Jerusalem Cafe

Jerusalem Cafe Offers Buffet Brilliance in the Heart of Midtown.

With a menu ranging from sushi to pizza to falafel and offering both affordable weekday lunch specials and buffet-style dining, Midtown Manhattan’s Jerusalem Cafe is a family-friendly breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot conveniently located just steps from the CUNY Graduate Center and Empire State Building. Catering to students, tourists, and business professionals alike, this bright, modern, and spacious dairy eatery—open since January of 2015—allows diners to sample various hot and cold items from the buffet or order individual items a la carte.

Speaking of the buffet, Jerusalem Cafe has taken variety to a stratospheric level and offers a plethora of fish, vegetarian, vegan, and even gluten-free options, ensuring that there is something—or, more accurately, several somethings—for everyone; this is a perfect option for families with picky eaters or diverse tastes. Breakfast time brings fresh-baked bagels and pastries, egg dishes (including made-to-order customized omelettes and a beautifully spiced shakshuka), fresh fruit, cereal, and yogurt—plus one of the best cups of coffee in Midtown.

For lunch and dinner, pizzas (and Strombolis) range from traditional classics like cheese or vegetable to more unique combinations of toppings like falafel, bell peppers, and jalapeños. The cold side of the buffet offers a variety of deli-style salads and dips, while the hot side, in addition to the aforementioned pizzas, features several versions of salmon fillets, soups, vegetable dishes, pastas, and couscous; even a perfectly golden-breaded eggplant parmesan regularly makes an appearance.

A dedicated sushi section similarly offers not only traditional tuna and California rolls, but also unique options like the low-carb, cucumber-wrapped Narudo Rolls and spicy, jalapeño-topped Kani Supreme Rolls.

It’s hard to resist the endless variety of the buffet, but if that’s not your style, fear not: Jerusalem Cafe also offers traditional a la carte ordering for many popular menu items, including made-to-order salads, sushi, pizzas and Strombolis, Impossible Burgers, and wraps.

For a work meeting, student gathering, or other larger get-together, they also offer catering-style platters with a variety of salads, sushi rolls, wraps, or dips, meaning you can easily bring the buffet experience home or to your office, campus, or home—or even for a picnic at nearby Bryant Park. For tourists and locals alike, Jerusalem Cafe is a delicious and affordable Midtown institution not to be missed.
