About La Sova
La Sova has built a reputation as a reliable destination for high-quality kosher takeout and catering. With a menu that blends classic flavors with creative combinations, the restaurant, located on East 13th Street in Brooklyn, offers a variety of meat-based dishes, salads, and dips designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes. Whether customers are stopping in for a quick meal or ordering for a larger gathering, La Sova provides an assortment of freshly prepared options.
La Sova is co-owned by Amnon Dabah and Yonatan Suliman-Zada, both of whom are also the chefs. Amnon has been in the culinary field for 15 years, having owned and operated a Mexican food truck where he mastered street food, and working in various other kitchens. He has a passion for delivering flavor packed food that are authentic, and he brings that to La Sova's kitchen.
Yonatan carries his 12 years of culinary experience into his cooking and ownership as well. Starting his journey at the age of 15, he worked at takeout kitchens where he learned to handle fast-paced and high volume cooking. His passion for food has evolved past just cooking, moving into crafting a story with the food that brings people together and gives a memorable food experience.
The sandwich selection at La Sova is one of its main attractions. The Ribeye Steak Sandwich, served on a hero roll with sautéed peppers and onions, is often highlighted for its rich flavors and tender meat. Another customers favorite is the Banh Mi, a twist on the traditional Vietnamese banh mi, featuring marinated grilled baby chicken with pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and sriracha mayo on a toasted baguette.
They are always updating the menu, and recently added the signature sandwiches: the Sova Supreme and The Kofta. The Sova Supreme includes southern fried baby chicken, grilled pastrami, grilled salami, chumus, fried eggplant, purple slaw, and jalamango tango sauce, on a 10” toasted sourdough chiabata hero. The Kofta is packed with juicy Kufta Kabobs, Hummus, Sumac red onions, Lettuce, Tehina and our signature Jalamango tango Sauce served on a 10" sourdough ciabatta Baguette.
For those looking for a non-sandwich option, La Sova’s grilled flatbread pizzas, known as meat pizzas, have been well received. The Brizza, topped with smoked brisket, barbecue sauce, cripy onions, and a lemon crema drizzle, has been particularly noted for its balance of smoky and tangy flavors. The Mizza, featuring a combination of brisket, corned beef, pastrami, diced grilled salami, caramelized onions, and honey mustard aioli drizzle, provides a hearty, savory bite. Another unique option is the Shwizza, which incorporates baby chicken shawarma, chopped Belgian fries, hummus, tehina, and amba, offering a fusion of Mediterranean and street-food flavors.
To round out the meal, La Sova also offers a selection of salads and rice bowls. From the classic grilled chicken Caesar salad to unique salads such as the Banh Mi Salad, Chipotle Lime Chicken salad, and the Shawarma Salad all delivering bold flavors. The rice bowls are also a great way to stay healthy and feel satiated with options like the Burrito bowl, Banh Mi bowl, and the Shawarma Bowl.
For their takeout, La Sova's frequent Shabbos options have been a major hit. With options including Charcuterie Boards, Mazza Platters, main dishes, fishes, the list goes on for you to take a break from Shabbos cooking. They even offer larger platters and tins for Shabbos catering, perfect for your Kiddush Club.
