About Holy Schnitzel – Borough Park

Holy Schnitzel manages to take the art of Schnitzel to the next level - and is popping up everywhere. After their success with a Staten Island location, in October 2021, brothers Eric and Tamir Shabat plus friend Ben Gevili opened a location in Borough Park, Brooklyn. They have since added another in Roseland, New Jersey.

The Borough Park location has a new modern feel. Like its predecessors, it provides fast food that is kosher and affordable. However, unlike other Holy Schnitzels, the food comes to you. The kitchen is in the back instead of the front, and the food is brought out to your table, so no tip is necessary  but it's a step up from waiting at the counter.

Fast food may be fast, but at Holy Schnitzel it is all about fresh. The food is not precooked but prepared fresh for the customers. Leftovers do not get reheated and sold the next day. Suppose a customer orders The Holy Toasty, a fan favorite for example (crispy cornflake chicken topped with grilled pastrami on a flat toasted baguette with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, sautéed onions with honey mustard and holy sauce). In that case, the chicken will be fried right then and there.

Other popular dishes include the popcorn chicken, the shawarma, and the loaded brisket fries (BBQ pulled brisket loaded over French fries topped with Jalapeno mayo). Customers can order all of those and more without breaking the bank. Their weekly lunch specials, available during the week from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. are a full meal. The priciest, chicken sandwich with fries and a can of soda, is only $16.99, and two hot dogs with fries and a soda is only $10.99!

The Shabat brothers brought Holy Schnitzel to Borough Park because the community was in need of affordable, quality, fast food fare. Now, that option is there, and parties of nearly twenty can spend less than $300 on a meal without holding back. There's no reason not to get everything that appeals on the menu. They have everything from deep-fried dishes to healthy grilled chicken with salad, all for reasonable prices. They also offer delivery and catering, while still remaining under budget.

While the ambiance sets this location apart, it's still the Holy Schnitzel we've come to love. No matter where you find them, Holy Schnitzel abides by their motto: "Do everything from the heart and give people what you would want. Give 110% with everything you do and serve, no cutting corners." Those are some "holy" words to live by. Amen!
