About Crush Cookie Bar
When David Warner was younger, he used to go to Crumble Cookie Bar and order the peanut butter and jelly cookies. When he got older and more frum, he discovered that the place wasn’t strictly kosher and was majorly bummed. David missed those cookies and wanted other people to enjoy them. So he promised himself that one day, he would buy the place and make it kosher. In February of 2022, he and his mother Mariette (Mattie to friends) realized his dream by purchasing the business. They reopened under the RCBC in March of 2022 and renamed it Crush Cookie Bar in June 2022.
Customers are family at this local establishment, and Crush Cookie Bar has a welcoming atmosphere that smells of freshly baked goods. Everything is bright, with pink and yellow everywhere; it’s a great local hang-out. As a local mom, Mattie ensured Crush Cookie Bar was a place where parents would be comforted to know their kids were hanging out at 2:00 AM on Motzei Shabbos. What’s safer than warm cookies and milk? Local teens can come to hang out and take Instagram pictures of themselves next to the massive mural by local artist Dennis Menas featuring every cereal character from Tony the Tiger to Captain Crunch.
Mattie is not only the co-owner; she is the head baker. She’s always loved doing creative things and bringing joy to people (she’s a concert violinist and designer on the side!). Now she brings joy to the people of her family’s hometown with eighteen different cookie themes, which she bakes fresh every day with her team. Each cookie is designed to appeal to a different pallet. The menu features everything from classics like the OG Chunk, a classic chocolate chip cookie with a bit more chunk (real Hershey’s chocolate!), to the sweet and tangy Fruity Pebble Punch, a cookie infused with fruity pebbles, topped with fresh cereal and a strawberry marshmallow drizzle. The number one cookie is the Stuffed Nutella Cookie, stuffed and drizzled with Nutella spread. Other popular choices include the Oreo’s & Cream Cookie (crushed Oreos, white chocolate chips, and a vanilla drizzle) and the Leave You Wanting S’more Cookie (Graham crackers, Hershey’s chocolate, and marshmallows). Finally, let’s not forget the cookie that started it all, the PB&J, just like David remembers it, except now it’s kosher! Don’t worry if you have a peanut allergy, as a wide variety of nut-free cookies are prepared and stored in a different section than those with nuts; Mattie thought of everything.
In addition to cookies and a variety of milk (whole, chocolate, almond, strawberry, and oat), Crush Cookie Bar sells brownies, cereal bars, and ice cream. They even have a Swirl machine that infuses the ice cream by crushing treats into it! With twelve ice cream flavor options on any given day, customers can pick out cereal and cookie flavors infused with the ice cream in the Swirl machine to create an original flavor specific to the customers’ taste.
Crush Cookie Bar is all about comfort, spreading love, and human connection; Mattie says they chose the name Crush because of that wonderful feeling of excitement and temporary obsession you experience when you have a new crush.
She loves the people in her community, which is why she bakes for them, catering school and shul events, and always looking for more ways Crush Cookie Bar can serve the community. So, come taste the love! Because, at Crush Cookie Bar, it all starts in the kitchen.
